A QUESTION OF LEGITIMACY

Mk 7:6 This people honoureth me with their lips but their heart is far from me. Dear Jesus, Mk 7:6
Mt 7.21 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven ; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Jn 13.18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen:

Ac 8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

2Ti 3: 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Jn 2:16 , Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

Mt 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

1 Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy

He 12:14 Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

1Th 4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

Heb 10:26,27 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Heb 10:3131 [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Mk 10:28-31 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last first.

Lk 14:26-27 26 If any [man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

2Co 2:15 15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one [we are] the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who [is] sufficient for these things?

Mk 8:35 35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

2Ti 2:3-5 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of [this] life;that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries, [yet] is he not crowned, excepthe strive lawfully.

Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Lk 13:23-24 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Isa 55:9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Acts 8:20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

1Ti 1:19-20...which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die

Mt 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Mt. 7:21 My wife and I would like to become Christians. Jn 13:18 We would like to join You and Your people. Ac 8.18 We’ve counted the cost and we think we would be better off in the long run to become Christians. 2Ti 3:5 We are willing to give up our Sundays like all the rest. Jn 2:16 And during the week, if we have to, we’ll play ball, go camping, read the bible or whatever it takes to make You happy. Mt 23:15 And if You really want us to, we’ll even join the choir or teach a Sunday school class.

1Pe 1:16 I know that being a Christion means that my wife and I will have to clean up our act but please don’t expect us to become a couple of "holy-rollers"-- if you know what I mean. Heb 12:14 Please don’t misunderstand me, we want to be"holy" but we just don’t want to be "saved" from all our sins just yet. 1Th 4:7 Does that make any sense to You? Heb 10:26-27 For now we would just like to be "justified" and I think we can work out the smaller details of "sanctification" later. Heb 10:31 Don’t You?

Mk 10:28-31 Furthermore, I know that Peter and the rest of the apostles have given up everything to follow You.

Lk 14:26-27 But is that really necessary? 2Co 2:15 When I stop and think about it, all this talk about persecution, dying to self, and living and thinking only of You gets a little frightening. Mk 8:35 Please forgive me but we have lives to live too You know. 2Ti 2:2-5 Besides, is it really necessary to have "full membership" cards? Ga 1:8 Have You ever thought about "guest" cards or "part time" membership cards?

Col 2:8 Think about it. If You gave out these other cards, You could get alot more people who would want to join You in heaven instead of having to send them all to Hell! it seems only logical to me that You would want more people in heaven than in hell anyway.Lk 13:23-24

Isa 55:9

Act 8:20 And one last thing, if You will let us join You, my wife and I would be willing to go so far as to tithe and join a prayer chain.

Thank You for Your time.

Sinsearly,

Mr. and Mrs. Carnality

1Ti 1:19-20 Rom 8:13

P.S. We know a alot of people just like us who would love to join You under these terms. Mt 25:41

  • My dear reader, have you now carefully considered the heart of this man’s letter and the truth of God’s Holy Word inscribed in the margin? Have you considered your own heart? Today we beseech you to examine your ownself. Prove yourself, try yourself. Do you not know your ownself, whether Jesus Christ is in you, except you be a reprobate? Do you see your heart reflected in the heart of this man? Have you come to God on your own terms? Have you demanded of the infinite, mighty Jehovah, the HOLY-HOLY-HOLY God who dwells in light which no man can approach, the God who made all that there is and without whom nothing was made that was made, have you demanded of him that he meet YOUR conditions of Salvation? OR have you come according to HIS conditions? Have you humbled and bowed yourself before him? Are you yet in your sins?, Is Jesus Christ your Sweet Savior, and MIGHTY King or have you "done despite" to the name of our Lord Jesus saying, "Save me IN my sins but not from them?" "THOU FOOL!" If this is the state of your heart you are yet unconverted, and know not the way of life. The carnal man is a dead man. Yes, sin remains in those of us who truly have been born again, but praise God, IT DOES NOT REIGN. Sin’s power has been broken. Praise God for Justification and Regeneration! Do not hide behind the thin veil known as "CARNAL CHRISTIAN". "Carnal" and "Christian" must not be joined together. "Can two walk together except they be agreed?" "Shall we continue in Sin? God Forbid! How can we that are dead to sin live any longer therein." Rom 6:1,2 Today the "QUESTION OF LEGITIMACY" has been raised before you. What will God’s verdict be? Are you a legitimate Christian? Or are you only "Carnal" and "Almost a Christian."
